Remy and Non-Remy hair-

Until you are an expert in the human hair industry it’s quite difficult to judge or differentiate between Remy and Non-Remy hair and so it’s very important to do research before purchase to identify the true authentic and trustworthy sellers.

//So read carefully and choose wisely//

What are the differences between Remy and Non-Remy Hair???

1)Know the Source of The Hair

Virgin Remy hair is the hair that is collected(shaved) from one source or donated in temples with utmost healthy and hygienic collection practices.

Non-Remy hair is also 100% human hair, but this hair is collected from multiple sources like salons, fallen hair and random mix suppliers.

2)Be Aware About the Quality-

Virgin Remy hair being collected from only one source is shaved and bundled in such a manner that all the hair alignment of cuticles are preserved in one direction and so the cuticles of the hair remain intact which helps in protecting s hair luster, moisture and natural looking hair extensions.

Non-Remy being collected from multiple sources, the cuticle direction become mixed as a result the cuticles are all misaligned, can cause hair tangle.

To prevent that, hair is washed in acid to remove protective layer called cuticle to make it tangle free and smooth. Washing in acid makes hair look dull and dry soon.

3)Shelf Life of the hair-

In Remy hair the intact cuticles will keep the protein in the middle of the hair fiber which makes the hair feel silky, shiny, soft and lustrous throughout its lifetime even after multiple washes while

In Non-Remy hair since the cuticles runs in both directions so it must go through a process called ‘Acid Bath’, eventually resulting in hair left with low moisture and further the hair is hence coated with silicone to make it look shiny and conceal any hair flaws caused after acid bath decreasing its overall shelf life.

Although both the hair can be bleached, dyed, permed etc. but for better result of bleaching and perming comes with cuticle aligned hair as it holds necessary moisture and thickness to hair. If you are buying hair for six or less than six months, non-Remy hair also is good to consider as it will be price effective.

4)Value for Money/Pricing -

Remy hair is smoother, shinier, healthier and the hair feels amazing even after multiple washes and last, it’s quality and luster as it has the best quality.

Thus, the investment is great as Remy hair is more expensive but well worth it!! While

Non-Remy hair is very popular and readily available because the price is low but after few shampoo washes, the silicone soon comes off and the hair gets duller and starts breaking off hence the investment is much lower however this type of hair is not recommended for long term use (max 6 months) for the obvious reasons.

5)Can You Dye/Bleach the Hair-

Both Remy and non-Remy hair can also be dyed or bleached, but it’s recommended not to bleach your hair more than two shades lighter and it’s quite good to avoid bleaching (use bleach that contain no more than 20vol% of peroxide)

While For Non-Remy hair it’s not much recommended to dye or bleach as it already goes through chemical treatments and can further damage the hair.

So let’s conclude some points for the Buyer’s guide-

1. Use of silicone- Use of silicone in non-Remy hair to make it look shiny leads to compromise in its quality and, his hair cannot be recycled. It is not good for customers aiming for long term use of hair.

2. Natural look- Remy hair has cuticles intact and aligned which makes them worth paying. A true Remy hair will bring you years of enjoyment as it keeps looking more natural, silky and soft.

3. Expert advice -Both the hair is 100% human hair, but it only differs when it comes to longer use as non-Remy hair will start losing its smoothness within few weeks after wash (due to acid bath) over Remy hair which can lasts quite longer if properly maintained.

4. Both hair look similar-While purchasing first look and feel is very similar in hair, you need trustworthy supplier to confirm quality according to prices.
